Laparoscopy is a rapidly evolving branch of Urology and has replaced most of the open surgical procedures. With the laparoscopic procedures there will only be 3 to 4 ports of 5 mm to 1 cm size through which laparoscopic instruments are placed and surgical procedures are performed.

One specific advantage over open procedures is that magnified clear vision is obtained with the present high definition camera and monitors that helps to identify minute details with precision. Nowadays we have laparoscopy monitors that have 3D vision and articulating instruments that provide the same advantage of robotic surgery and is cost effective. At our centre almost all of the surgical procedures are performed lapaproscopically.
